Welcome to the Linux Users Group at the University of Texas at Dallas! We are a student organization devoted to the teaching and advocacy of Linux, open source, and free software of all kinds. We welcome anyone and everyone from the Linux, Unix, BSD, and OS X realms, so come join us. All meetings are open to the public.
The next meeting has not been scheduled.
The next installfest will occur on March 31, 2012 in ECSS 2.306.
Linux users (and non-Linux users), join us this Saturday in ECSS 2.306 for our first installfest of the year! Bring friends, games, and as many computers as possible. Our officers will have the LAN set up by 10AM and we'll be there to provide support until 5PM (or until someone kicks us out of the room). We will have a some distros and blank CDs available, but we encourage you to test our new PXE server for network installs (or just trying out different OSes)! We hope to see you there! :)
We have one meeting every two weeks which usually has two short presentations on different topics. If you would like to read about our past topics, please visit the meetings database.
You can always contact Reid Nabinger at rmn072000@utdallas.edu
We have several mailing lists for the public to join and keep abreast of our activities. Announcements about all meetings and activities are broadcast on the Announce mailing list, and there's general discussion and questions on the General list. Instructions for subscribing to either or both of them are available here.
The UTDLUG has its own channel, #utdlug, on irc.oftc.net. A short how-to on using Xchat to connect and chat on this channel is available here.
Check the organization page for contact information if you need to get in touch with the group. There is a facebook group as well if you would like to join.
This website is a continual work in progress. If you'd like to help out, visit the todo page and see what's currently on the menu.
